Frequently Asked Questions

How My Approach Works

  • What makes your approach different from traditional therapy?

My methods create noticeable shifts quickly—often without needing to relive past experiences. Unlike traditional therapy, which may focus on analyzing thoughts over time, my work helps shift emotional patterns at their root. Using innovative techniques based on memory reconsolidation, we can help the mind update old responses naturally, leading to rapid and lasting change.

  • How does your approach work?

A key part of what I do is helping the mind reset emotional responses, leading to positive changes in thinking, feeling, and behavior. Instead of requiring willpower or ongoing reinforcement, these shifts happen through targeted techniques that update old patterns automatically.

  • Is this like Counselling, CBT, or EMDR?

While I draw from a broad spectrum of approaches, including elements of CBT and mindfulness, my work differs in a key way: rather than just challenging beliefs, I help release the emotional charge that keeps them stuck. This doesn’t require reliving past experiences—instead, we work directly with the patterns that are keeping them in place. As the emotional grip loosens, the belief itself starts to feel less rigid, making deeper change easier and longer-lasting

If you’re interested in the science behind this, you can explore more here to see how it compares to traditional approaches like CBT.

  • Do I need to talk about my past in detail?

No. My methods don’t require you to relive or even think directly about difficult past experiences. This makes it particularly helpful for traumatic memories or for those who prefer privacy around certain aspects of their lives.

What to Expect from Sessions

  • What happens in the first session?

In the first session, we’ll explore your concerns and identify the structure of the problem. Then, we’ll begin using my quick-shift methods. Most people feel noticeable relief even after this initial meeting.

  • How long does each session last?

Sessions typically last up to an hour but can be shorter depending on the complexity of the issue. The full Life Audit sessions tend to be longer and can last up to 2 hours.

  • How many sessions will I need?

This varies from person to person. Most people experience noticeable improvement after the first session. The bulk of the work is usually done in that first session, with follow-ups focused on fine-tuning.

Booking a block of 3 sessions is recommended—this allows time for things to settle and for any additional tweaks that might be needed. If everything is resolved within 2 sessions, the final session can be kept "in the bank" for future use.

  • Will I really feel better in just a few minutes?

Yes—change can happen fast. Each key issue we target typically takes just 1-2 minutes to shift, leading to noticeable relief in that specific area. While broader patterns of stress often involve multiple contributing factors, addressing these one by one can create a powerful cumulative effect.

For more complex challenges, multiple sessions may be needed to reinforce lasting change.

Results and Expectations

  • Will the results be permanent?

My approach is designed to create lasting change by resetting the emotional charge behind distressing memories or patterns. While these shifts are meant to be enduring, new experiences can introduce fresh challenges. Occasional follow-ups may help reinforce progress, especially for ongoing life changes.

If you’ve booked three sessions but feel completely fine after two, we can keep the remaining session "in the bank" for later use.

  • What if it doesn’t work for me?

I use a flexible approach with multiple methods. If one technique doesn’t resonate, that’s completely fine—we work dynamically, adjusting the approach to find what works best for you as an individual.

As with any therapist, results can’t be guaranteed. However, because my work is so fast, you won’t have to wait months to see if it’s helping—you’ll know in the first session.

  • Will I feel different forever after just one session?

Many people experience a massive shift after one session, but ongoing change might require more sessions depending on the complexity of the issue and whether you’re facing an ongoing situation.

Who I Work With

  • Do you work with teenagers and adults?

Yes, I work with both teenagers and adults. My methods are tailored to be effective across different age groups. I don’t tend to go below the age of 11 years old, unless the child is particularly mature for their age.

  • Is there anyone not suited to your work?

I don’t work with conditions such as bipolar disorder, psychosis, or personality disorders—these are best addressed with specialized medical support.

I have successfully worked with neurodiverse individuals (ASD, ADHD), but results can vary and often require ongoing work. Feel free to get in touch so we can determine whether this approach is a good fit for you.
